FORENSICS INDUSTRY DESCRIPTION

Forensics is concerned with the recognition,
identification, individualization, and evaluation of
physical evidence using the methods of the natural
sciences. Some of the significant areas of this specialty include toxicology, odontology, trace evidence (hair, fibers, glass, etc.), ballistics, and explosives, accelerates, and fingerprint examination. Their research,
examinations and findings are used as evidence in legal cases.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Programs in forensic science combine courses in investigations, evidence, criminal law, and procedures, with science and math courses in chemistry, calculus, analytic geometry, and quantitative presentation, court testimony preparation, and some include training in the new Automatic Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).

  • DEVELOP SKILLS IN

Develop Skills In Forensics

  • Understanding the information that they have
    acquired to understand the correct approach for a forensic investigation in terms of data recovery,
    examination, use of instruments, and analysis.
  • Identifying crime scene considerations of
    investigators for a variety of different crime scenes.
  • Employing proper and appropriate evidence
    collection, preservation, documentation and
    transport techniques of all evidence identified at the crime scene.
