Private Security Academy at Highline College
Highline College is offering a 2 week Private Security Academy starting spring quarter (May 9-20, 2017). The program has been re-structured to offer a shorter more condensed version (80 hours in two weeks).
Students who successfully complete the Private Security will earn 8 college credits, applicable toward the Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice at Highline College.
The Private Security Academy (PSA) is designed for individuals either currently employed or seeking employment in private security or other police functions, loss prevention, and assets protection.
The academy will satisfy the state-mandated PSA curriculum. Students will also participate in additional specialized training which will enhance their skills, providing greater career opportunities.
Students who successfully complete the Private Security Academy earn 8 college credits, applicable toward the Associate of Applied Science degree in Criminal Justice at Highline College.
Academy Cost: $1,150* (includes supplies and materials)

Mandatory Orientation and Pre-Registration:
Students must attend a mandatory orientation and pre-registration on Sept 18th from 10:00am-1:00pm at Highline College, building 99-room 132 (no exceptions). Applicants will be screened for felony convictions.
Certificate in Introduction to Homeland Security
Highline College is pleased to offer an Introduction to Homeland Security certificate. This unique 19 credit program offers the particpant base knowledge in several facets of Homeland Security, Intelligence Led Policing, Transportation and Border Security as well as Terrorism. These classes are offered in the distance learning online format and can be used as core subjects within the Criminal Jusitce AAS degree plan. They may also be used as electives within other degree plans, but you should first check with your faculty adviser.
